Privacy Policy
CF Studio is a native macOS app for managing Cloudflare KV namespaces and D1 databases. It is built to be local-first: the short version is that your credentials and your Cloudflare data stay on your Mac, and we do not collect, store, or transmit them to us.
01Who this policy covers
This policy describes how the CF Studio macOS application (“CF Studio”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use it. It does not cover Cloudflare’s own services or any website you reach outside the app. CF Studio is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cloudflare, Inc.
02Credentials you provide
To connect the app to your Cloudflare account, you provide your Cloudflare Account ID and an API token. These credentials are:
- Stored locally on your Mac, in the macOS Keychain, so the app can reach the Cloudflare API on your behalf;
- Used only to authenticate your own requests to Cloudflare’s API;
- Never sent to us or to any third party other than Cloudflare;
- Removable at any time by disconnecting the account in the app or deleting the app.
You control the scope of your API token in the Cloudflare dashboard. We recommend creating a token limited to the KV and D1 permissions you actually need.
03Your Cloudflare data
When you browse KV namespaces, view D1 tables, edit rows, or run SQL, that data travels directly between your Mac and Cloudflare’s API over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. It is processed locally to display in the app. We do not operate any server that receives, stores, or has access to your namespaces, databases, rows, queries, or results.
04What we do not collect
CF Studio does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not:
- Create an account for you on our servers — there are no CF Studio accounts;
- Collect your name, email, location, or device identifiers;
- Track your usage, build a profile, or sell or share any data.
05Diagnostics
The app does not embed third-party crash-reporting tools. If you have enabled Share Mac Analytics (or App Store analytics) in macOS, Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized statistics and crash reports under Apple’s own privacy terms. This data is not linked to your identity, your credentials, or your Cloudflare data. You can change these settings in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
06Network connections
In normal use, the app connects only to Cloudflare’s API (for example, api.cloudflare.com) to perform the actions you initiate, and to Apple for App Store and system services. It does not send your data anywhere else.
07Security
Your API token is stored in the macOS Keychain, which is protected by your Mac’s security and account credentials. You are responsible for safeguarding your device and your token. If you believe a token has been exposed, revoke it in the Cloudflare dashboard and create a new one. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we design the app to keep sensitive data on your device.
08Children
CF Studio carries an all-ages App Store rating and contains no objectionable content. Because the app does not collect personal information from any user — as described above — it does not collect personal information from children either, and it requires no account or sign-up to use.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised policy on this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
